Aging and Spirituality: Abraham and Sarah, Laughing at 90
Organization: Saint Vincent College
Description: Saint Vincent College School of Social Sciences, Communication and Education will present three speakers from different religious traditions in the eighth edition of its lecture series on Aging and Spirituality this spring: Judaism, Islam and Buddhism. The focus comes from Vatican II, on “The Declaration of the Church to non-Christian religions,” where the Catholic Church commits itself to a dual program of proclamation and dialogue and which recognizes that “the Church rejects nothing that is holy and true” in these other religions.
The first speaker will be Ben Schachter, professor of fine arts at Saint Vincent College, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Fred M. Rogers Center. His presentation is entitled, “Abraham and Sarah, Laughing at 90.” Admission is free and open to the public.
Persons of all ages are welcome to attend and share in the discussion and questions.
Parking for the physically challenged is available at the Fred M. Rogers Center. All participants may park in Parking Area A and enter the Rogers Center at the first floor entrance.
